Clinical interests

• Cardiac surgery for congenital heart defects in all ages including neonates and Grown Up Congenital Heart disease (GUCH)
• Management of patients with hypoplastic left heart syndrome
• Management of patients with pulmonary atresia, VSD, and Major AortoPulmonary Collateral Arteries (MAPCAs)
• Difficult pacing problems

Mr Parry has published more than 60 articles in peer reviewed journals and has written 9 book chapters. He has received 12 grants to fund medical research both from UK organisations and the NIHR in USA. His research interests include the physiology of congenital heart disease in single ventricle circulations, foetal bypass and its clinical applications, and cerebral dysfunction associated with congenital heart disease and its treatment.
Medico-legal experience
Having held a consultant’s position for over 12 years, and having trained and been on staff in a centre of excellence abroad (USA), Mr Parry is very experienced in congenital cardiac procedures and has been asked for medicolegal opinions on many occasions. A turnaround time of 8 – 10 weeks is anticipated depending on case complexity.
